You can’t be the eldest daughter of Donald Trump if you expect to post a cutesy summer photo dump without tons of backlash. Naturally, that’s what happened when Ivanka Trump shared an Instagram post with summer photos depicting her charmed life with husband Jared Kushner and the rest of their family.
Tons of her supporters, and those who support Trump as the president, commented heart emojis and well wishes, along with compliments about Ivanka herself. But intermingled with those comments were the snarky ones, or the memes and gifs, referencing Trump’s decisions in office and Ivanka’s role in being responsible by not opposing Trump’s views with her own. Yeah, they trolled her pretty badly.
Ivanka Trump’s photos weren’t all that well-received.
In Ivanka’s post, she shared “little bits of summer” in the form of photos on the beach, on a yacht, and traveling. She also posted a photo of a coffee mug that says “be kind,” which plenty of people used as a way to joke about Ivanka sharing that mug, and its advice, with her dear old dad.
“Give your dad that coffee cup,” a user joked in the comments.
Another wrote, “You either have a lot of gall or are living in a delusional fantasy world to post a ‘Be Kind’ mug. No one believes that for a minute.”
Someone else referenced the idea of the Trump family using the presidency and name to grift, or earn money from people in a way that other presidents haven’t.
“Your Dad’s help in grifting has certainly improved your lifestyle,” they wrote. “Your children will someday want nothing to do with their sad Trump legacy. You will be blamed. You know it’s coming…”
And then, in a more obvious way, someone commented, “Ivanka, you’ve aged considerably. Sorry!”
People also shared Israel flags and Jewish-themed memes in the comments under Ivanka’s post. These are likely in reference to Ivanka converting to Judaism for her husband. But the memes and photos likely aren’t in support of Ivanka’s conversion, because one includes the brainrot character Tung Tung Tung Sahur.
People were hating on Ivanka Trump long before Trump’s second term.
To be fair, Ivanka got hate well before her father became the president for a second time. In 2017, when Trump began to service his first term in the White House, users discussed Ivanka on a Reddit thread. Some asked why Ivanka gets so much hate, being Trump’s daughter and not Trump himself. Others suggested that it’s the persona she presents to the world, even then. So it does make sense for her haters to come out in full force present day too.
At the time, someone commented, “She tries to paint herself as a progressive, but has had a near-zero effect in the administration in general. She just seems like a faux-gressive, around only to please low-information centrists.”
Another person wrote, “My issue with her is that she should be smart and independent enough to put down her dad’s b.s. but she won’t just because he’s family…and you know…he’s giving her like a billion dollars.”
Ivanka Trump’s other social media posts get the same kind of comments.
The July 2026 post Ivanka made before she shared her summer photo dump received a similar reception from her haters on Instagram. The post was about the World Cup and she shared a couple of photos and a view from inside what appears to be a helicopter with Trump looking out the window.
But the comments showed that Ivanka’s haters really took from the post. Some commented that they are sick of Ivanka in general, while another person commented that they can’t wait to see Ivanka and her husband’s “tribunals” someday.
