General Hospital star Jacklyn Zeman has died at 70 years old. She was best known for her role as Bobbie Spencer on the show. Her executive producer broke the news via Twitter on Wednesday night.
According to the actress's family, she died of a short battle with cancer. Fans are mourning the loss of such a great spirit.
Frank Valentini, executive producer of General Hospital, posted a tweet sharing news of Jacklyn's death. "On behalf of our @GeneralHospital family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved @JackieZeman," the tweet read. "Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work."

He continued with an additional tweet, sending sympathy to her loved ones and daughters: "Jackie will be greatly missed, but her positive spirit will always live on with our cast and crew."
Jacklyn started off on General Hospital in 1977. She played her role of Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Spencer in over 800 episodes.
Jacklyn also acted on numerous other shows. According to IMDb, some of those include The Bay, One Life to Live, and The Edge of Night.
The actress leaves behind two daughters. Lacey Gorden and Cassidy Gorden are from Jacklyn's marriage to Glenn Gorden. It was her third and longest marriage.
Jacklyn had previously married and divorced both Steve Gribbin and Murray Kaufman. She had no children with either of them.
A tweet posted by General Hospital shared a statement on the beloved actress's passing: "Jacklyn Zeman has been a beloved member of the ‘General Hospital’ and ABC family since she originated the iconic role of Bobbie Spencer over 45 years ago. She leaves behind a lasting legacy for her Emmy-nominated portrayal of the bad girl turned heroine and will always be remembered for her kind heart and radiant spirit."
