JD Vance’s Suit At State Dinner Is Going Viral And The Comparisons Are Something

Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance attended the welcome ceremony and state dinner during King Charles’ state visit to the United States. Photos of their outfits have been circulating on social media, and while a lot of people couldn’t care less what they were wearing for the occasion (especially as ordinary Americans are struggling to afford the necessities), some just can’t get over JD’s “ill-fitting suit.”

Photos of JD’s outfit have prompted all kinds of questions (and jokes), like who let this man wear this outfit?

People are wondering if President Donald Trump is picking out people’s clothes now, too.

Because you might recall how JD once talked about the president buying shoes for him, and then, a report claimed that he actually has the habit of buying shoes for all of his favorite men. So, has this extended to clothes as well?

JD himself shared photos of his questionable outfit, which garnered comments like, “Americans can’t afford groceries. But how was your fancy dinner?” Then, the photos started circulating across social media platforms. “Did Trump buy his pants, just like he buys shoes?” one person on Threads questioned. “What a slob.”

Someone else said JD “probably used Trump’s tailor,” while others argued that neither man appears to have one.

The outfit sparked ridicule.

In trying to figure out how JD managed to go out in such an ill-fitting suit (and without anyone stopping him), people shared multiple theories, like maybe whoever styled him does not actually like him, or maybe he picked out his outfit himself.

“Hey, to whoever dresses JD Vance: welcome to the resistance,” one critic wrote on Threads. Meanwhile, someone else joked, “Why does Just Dance Vance look like he’s been stuffed into his first ‘big boy suit,’ and he’s sulking.”

Another critic added, “Even his clothes look uncomfortable around him. Like they’re trying to get away from his body.”

People struggled to understand what he was going for.

But if his vision was “the Penguin in Batman Returns,” “Looney Tunes orchestra conductor,” or “melting wedding cake topper,” he might’ve actually achieved it, according to critics on social media.

Some people really couldn’t believe that JD’s look was unintentional. “How did they get his pant legs to be both wrinkly and too short?” one critic questioned. “That took some serious dedication!”

Commenting on photos of both the vice president and the president, another critic said, “I have never seen two men look worse in a waistcoat… Is their tailor f—ing with them?” Surely, JD can afford a good tailor, so why does his suit look like it wasn’t meant for him? “Did he borrow it from someone??” someone questioned. “Find it in a bin somewhere?”

People thought Usha looked great, though.

Even some critics of the Trump administration thought Usha looked gorgeous in her gown (in spite of her husband’s questionable outfit). However, when Oscar de la Renta posted about Usha’s dress on Threads, people weren’t all that happy about it.

“slotus, Usha Vance, wears a custom double-face wool gown in noir with crystal floral appliqué and matching bias-cut shawl for the White House State Dinner,” the account captioned a photo of Usha and JD.

Of course, some people who commented on the post were distracted by JD’s ill-fitting suit. But many others pointed out that ordinary people are struggling right now, and they really don’t care about Usha’s gown. “People are having to choose between feeding their kids or paying rent,” one person wrote in response. Someone else said, “Cool, gas is $4.99 a gallon in NE Ohio but glad Usha has a pretty dress.”
