Jelly Roll surprised his fans when he made jokes about President Donald Trump during his guest-hosting gig on Jimmy Kimmel’s show. Although Jelly Roll had never actually voiced support for Trump, he was photographed with him before and also avoided explaining his political views when asked at the Grammys.
Months after these rumors really took off, Jelly Roll finally spoke up about his actual viewpoints on Jimmy Kimmel Live!—and some of his (former) fans are really bothered by what he said. So much so that his invitation to perform at an upcoming Mar-a-Lago event was reportedly revoked.
Apparently, Jelly Roll was invited to perform at an event benefiting the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation.
According to reports from Fox News and Consequence, the invitation was extended in April of this year, months before Jelly Roll repeatedly made fun of Trump on TV. The event, hosted by Law Enforcement Today, is set to take place at Mar-a-Lago in November. An invitation to the Big Blue Bash event (obtained by Fox News) reportedly stated, “FLEOA is a non-partisan, professional association committed to supporting law enforcement across all agencies and administrations.”
Nonetheless, it seems that Jelly Roll has lost the potential gig after being more transparent about his politics. Even before his invite was revoked, Jelly Roll did not seem to have any plans to perform there. A source told the conservative entertainment outlet that Jelly Roll’s team did not seem to know about the gala and found out about the alleged invite via social media.
Now, he’s officially been uninvited.
Kyle Reyes of Law Enforcement Today told Fox News that the invitation (that Jelly Roll potentially never received in the first place) has been revoked. He also said that Jelly Roll never actually responded to the invite.
Reyes also took to X to share more details about the decision in a lengthy statement, per Consequence. “We’re DONE. You’re FIRED,” the post started. “On April 26, 2026, we made the mistake of sending a formal invitation to country artist Jelly Roll Roll to perform at this year’s Second Annual Big Blue Bash at Mar-A-Lago, the home of President Trump.”
Elsewhere in the post, Reyes stated that he was “formally withdrawing the invitation for Jelly Roll” and explained why.
“What I saw last week with this self-absorbed ‘artist’ bashing President Trump and Conservatives was not a man who walks in the footsteps of Jesus Christ – it was a man desperately seeking attention and relevancy from the very Godless crowd that has categorically rejected his preaching,” he explained. He also added, “The man has lost his way. I don’t hate him. I actually genuinely pity him.”
Jelly Roll made several jokes about Trump and also clarified his own viewpoints.
He initially sparked backlash and shocked both his fans and critics when he made jokes about Trump’s weight during his first night of guest-hosting. After fans threatened to boycott his music, he doubled down and continued to mock Trump.
At one point, he spoke about the price of toilet paper and said there’s “something poetic about it being expensive to wipe our a– just because the president is full of s—.”
As for his own political views, Jelly Roll clarified that he’s “pretty down the middle.” At the same time, he said he “fumbled (his) words” when asked about “what’s going on in the country” at the Grammys this year.
“That night at the Grammys, I had an opportunity to speak up for people who were scared, hurting, and felt like nobody was speaking for them,” he said. “I had a microphone and I didn’t use it the right way.”
