Critics Think They Know Karoline Leavitt’s Next Move After White House Exit

The moment that Democrats, Liberals, and fringe members of the Left have been waiting for is here. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is stepping down from her role in the White House and leaving. In a SpongeBob meme-worthy “Imma head out” moment, she appears to be jumping ship at a time when things are pretty hairy for Donald Trump. But there are many who don’t think this is the last we’ve seen of Leavitt by far.

Trump posted the announcement on Truth Social. Leavitt shared her own statement on Instagram. And in comments under a Fox News post on X (formerly Twitter), there is a lot of speculation about what comes next for the soon-to-be former White House press secretary. Critics of the Trump Administration believe they know exactly where Leavitt is headed, and it isn’t home to take care of her two children and elderly husband.

Karoline Leavitt could find herself on Fox News next.

When Trump announced Leavitt’s departure from the White House, he wrote that it was because she wanted to spend more time with her family. This came just a month after she returned to her role after being on maternity leave. Trump also wrote that Leavitt would have another role, still close to him, as an advisor for him outside of the White House, whatever that means.

“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections,” he wrote.

But, according to comments under the Fox News post on X, some believe that she might make the jump from press secretary to on-air conservative commentator. That seems like a genuine possibility, as long as Leavitt doesn’t want to actually spend more time at home taking care of her family.

On a Reddit post about Leavitt’s exit, more people speculated that Leavitt will return to the American people on Fox News.

“Fox News is already getting the paperwork ready,” one Reddit user commented.

Another added, “She’s riding off into the sunset to Fox News, I assume.”

“In a perfect or even just world, this sickening sack would be held accountable for her constant lies and live the rest of her life in shame but in the good old USA she’ll get a cushy position with FOX News or Newsmax,” someone else wrote.

Some people think it has to do with the decoy plane.

Maybe Leavitt’s decision to leave, if it was indeed her choice, has to do with the decoy Air Force One admission that Trump opened up about. In July 2026, when Trump and close members of his Cabinet traveled to Turkey for the NATO summit, he was secretly removed from Air Force One and taken home in a secret military plane after possible threats to his life. Leavitt was one of the people left behind on Air Force One despite the threat involving a missile and Air Force One.

As someone put it in the same Reddit thread, “She probably didn’t like being used as bait for an Iranian missile.” Ope.

Karoline Leavitt released a statement about leaving the White House.

After Trump announced that Leavitt would be stepping down from her role as the press secretary, she shared it on her Instagram account in a screenshot. In the same post, she added her own statement about her time with Trump and how she plans to continue to fight for the Republican party and root for Trump and his team during the second half of his second term in office.

“The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life,” Leavitt wrote. She added, “My fight is entering a new phase, but it is far from over.”
