People are mocking President Donald Trump’s state fair after seeing the photos Karoline Leavitt posted online. The White House Press Secretary took to social media on June 28 to boast about her “fun day at the Great American State Fair,” but unfortunately for the Trump administration, not many people on social media seemed to believe her.
Because one of the photos Leavitt provides people with a pretty good view of the controversial event, and it doesn’t look like many people are actually there.

The Great American State Fair opened on June 25, and footage shared online has not exactly made it look crowded. In her post on X, Leavitt wrote, “How cool is it that we are alive during this historic time and we get to experience America’s 250th birthday!? 💙❤️ Looking forward to making more lifelong memories over the course of this very special week!!”
Presumably, the message did not land in the way that Leavitt had hoped, as social media users found it kind of hilarious. In one of her photos, Leavitt held her nearly two-year-old son Niko while standing in front of the fairgrounds. In the comments, several people joked that Leavitt and her son appeared to be the only people there.
“Just the two of you,” one person commented. “How nice.” Not everyone thought that was fair though; they could actually see about 10 people in the photo. “I hope you and the other 7 people who attended enjoy it,” another commenter joked.
Someone else wrote, “Say hi to all 12 people for me!” Reacting to Leavitt’s caption about how memorable the event will be, a fourth critic added, “The tens of people that showed up will hold those memories in their minds for ever.”
People have actually seen more people at very ordinary locations.

Like the grocery store, for example. Or a regular state fair. Leavitt’s photo is not the only one that has made the event look pretty empty. TMZ shared footage in which Dr. Oz was talking about the crowd at the event. Meanwhile, a TMZ reporter filmed this alleged “crowd,” and while there were some people standing near the stage, there was a lot of empty space behind them.
Additionally, journalist Aaron Rupar shared Fox News footage from the event and captioned it with, “every Fox News live shot from Trump’s fair is hilarious. I’ve seen more people gathered around our neighborhood Little Free Libraries.”
But Trump tried to claim that the event is actually “packed.”

You know, in spite of all the photos and videos on social media suggesting otherwise. Early in the morning on June 29, just a day after Leavitt shared her embarrassing photo from the event, Trump took to Truth Social to brag about how amazing it is. For some reason, he made it about Former President Joe Biden and Former President Barack Obama. Because of course he did.
“Do you think people appreciate what a fantastic job we did in building and operating the Great American State Fair at the National Mall, packed with happy people, and everybody loving it?” he posted just before 6:30 a.m. “Ask yourself this simple question, ‘DO YOU THINK THAT OBUMA OR SLEEPY JOE BIDEN COULD HAVE DONE IT?’ THE ANSWER IS NO!”
