Katharine McPhee Spotted At The Airport After Flying To The States Following Nanny’s Death

Katharine McPhee was spotted at the Los Angeles airport following a family tragedy that caused her to miss the last two performances of the Asia leg of the David Foster & Friends tour. She was set to perform in Jakarta, Indonesia, alongside her husband David Foster, but she posted on Instagram to share her unexpected change in plans last week.

"It's with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final 2 shows of our Asia run," she wrote in her statement on Instagram. "David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family."

At the time of posting, Katharine did not specify what the tragedy was, but Us Weekly later reported that the tragedy was the death of their 2-year-old son Rennie’s nanny.

Details about the nanny's death have not been released.

Katharine, 39, married her husband, David Foster, 73, in 2019. On June 19, 2022, she wished David a Happy Father's Day on Instagram, writing that he "made [her] complete in life by making me a mommy. I love our little family. I love our big family. You have NEVER complained over how your life is slightly different now."

At the Los Angeles airport, Katharine appeared to be traveling alone, Page Six reported. According to the outlet, the singer wore sweatpants, a T-shirt and a button-down shirt, keeping her "Singapore" cap low to partially cover her face.
