Kelly Ripa Joked She Would ‘Need A Plastic Surgeon’ To Match Husband Mark Consuelos’ Bod

If there's one thing Kelly Ripa loves talking about, it's her husband, Mark Consuelos. The longtime lovebirds are always quick to compliment each other. It's sickeningly sweet how into each other they are after over two decades together. Kelly's always doting on how hot her man is, but she says the way he got and maintains that hot body just isn't fair.

The host of Live! With Ryan and Kelly spoke about her husband's body during the show. Kelly talked about how men over 40 "don't suffer the same way" women do and that it makes it easier for them to get into shape.

When Ryan joked that Mark had sent him a shirtless photo and told him not to show Kelly, Kelly lamented her husband's ability to stay so fit. She joked, "I would need a plastic surgeon." While there's no need for Kelly to go under the knife, we'd be a little annoyed too if we watched our significant other effortlessly get better with age.

Kelly Ripa is always down to dote on her husband. She and Mark Consuelos have been together since 1995 and married since 1996. The former soap stars aren't just one of Hollywood's most stable couples; they're also one of the best looking.

While they've both always been very attractive, Mark has upped the ante since joining the cast of Riverdale, where he plays the often shirtless mafioso, Hiram Lodge. The show has recemented Mark as a certified heartthrob.

Kelly's all for her man's good looks, often taking the opportunity to praise him on Instagram or during segments of Live! With Kelly and Ryan, where he sometimes even stops in to cohost. She's got a good sense of humor about it and definite appreciation.

Of course, it's hard to live up to. As her husband has gotten more and more into his physique, Kelly often gets questions about her own diet and exercise regimen, insinuating she needs to keep up with him somehow.

When Ryan Seacrest joked about receiving a shirtless picture from Mark on the show recently, Kelly took her usual stance. "He said, ‘Don’t show Kelly,'" Ryan told his cohost, according to Us Weekly. Her response was nothing short of hilarious.

"I would need a plastic surgeon," Kelly joked in reference to getting an equally toned body as Mark's, which is no simple feat no matter who you are. "Isn’t that irritating? It’s an outrage," the 48-year-old proclaimed.

While Kelly does appreciate her husband's body, she is a little bitter about how easy it is for him to stay in that kind of shape. "Whereas Mark just needs to not drink half-and-half for one cup of coffee," she joked.

"He’s like, ‘Oh I didn’t drink half-and-half and then I took a steam shower. I think I look pretty good, what do you think?’" she mocked. "I’m like, ‘I can’t talk to you anymore.’ That’s a bunch of B.S. It's nonsense."

Kelly blames biology for putting her at a disadvantage, noting that men over 40 "don't suffer the same way" that women do. "Fortunately for me, my TV show requires that I wear clothes for all times," she joked.

Kelly did admit to having some genetic predispositions that help her stay in shape, however, so it's not a total uphill battle. "I have the metabolism and the blood type that eats carbs. That burns pasta," she said.

"I eat bread and I eat pasta," she continued. "But they tell me that that’s not so healthy — an all-pasta, all-carb diet — and that I should have proteins and vegetables. But I swear, that makes me sick."

Kelly recently detailed another struggle of being a woman when she joked about her most recent mammogram. "I go, ‘I don’t know what you’re going to put in there’ and she [the technician] goes, ‘Don’t worry about it,’" she recalled. "She literally looks at me, like, ‘I’ll take skin from your neck and your back if I have to.’"

"There’s not so much for them to work with, so literally, my face is smashed in the glass. … And then she goes, ‘And hold your breath. And breathe. … And hold your breath again,’" she recalled. "And I’m like, ‘Why am I a woman?’"

Kelly may not be able to match Mark's toned body, but she does look absolutely great for being a mom of three in her late 40s. The two of them seem to have great genes that they've passed along to their gorgeous children.
