On Tuesday, March 31, the Daily Mail published a report claiming that Kristi Noem’s husband, Bryon Noem, is “a secret crossdresser” who loves “bimbofication” and “huge, huge ridiculous boobs.” Apparently, the former Homeland Security secretary was “blindsided” by this and “devastated” to find out. But, of course, as with anything that goes viral online, people have their own theories and opinions, and a lot of critics of the Trump administration aren’t convinced that Kristi really had no idea.

According to the tabloid, Bryon did not deny the allegations. The Daily Mail published several selfies that show Bryon’s face. In them, he appears to be wearing large inflated balloons meant to mimic breasts. When The New York Times reached out to him requesting an interview, he said he would comment eventually, but not right now.
“I will at some point,” he wrote in a text. “Today is not the day. I appreciate your heart.”
Kristi responded to the report.
She and Byron have been married since 1992 and share three adult children: daughters Kassidy, 31, and Kennedy, 29, and son, Booker, 23. In a statement shared with The New York Post, Kristi’s reps acted like she didn’t know anything about her husband’s interest in bimbofication.
“Ms. Noem is devastated,” her representatives told the publication. “The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time.”
But some people aren’t convinced.

Obviously, Kristi is a controversial figure, which means a lot of people don’t exactly feel sorry for her, or even believe that she didn’t know about Bryon’s alleged bimbofication fetish. A lot of critics who have weighed in on social media suspect that Kristi is less “devastated” about her husband’s crossdressing and more “devastated” that people found out about it.
A lot of critics also argued that this whole thing would be a non-issue to them if it weren’t for the GOP’s apparent war on drag. “It’s okay to be a cross dresser. Clothes have no gender,” one person on Reddit wrote. “However being a raging hypocrite deserves every ounce of ridicule possible.”
Someone else wrote, “Look everyone is allowed to do whatever they want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. Buuuuut the right has made it very clear that they do not approve of that at all.”

Long before this report emerged, people speculated that Kristi was having an affair with adviser Corey Lewandowski. Kristi referred to the rumors as “tabloid garbage” when testifying before the House Judiciary Committee in March. Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove asked her about whether she “had sexual relations” with Corey, and she acted outraged that this was even being discussed.
“I am shocked that we’re going down and peddling tabloid garbage in this committee today,” she said at the time. “I would tell you that he is a special government employee who works for the White House. There are thousands of them in the federal government.”
The recent report about her husband has done absolutely nothing to quell these affair rumors, though. Critics aren’t convinced she was truly blindsided by this report about her husband. “Of course she knew,” a critic on Reddit wrote. “You don’t get to build a f— jet for your lover if you don’t have something on hubby.”
“Clearly she’s known for a long time and the marriage has been for show,” another Redditor added. “The woman has no spine and wouldn’t hesitate to destroy (her husband) in public to save face for herself.” And if she truly didn’t know? Some people pointed out that she probably would’ve noticed if she hadn’t been caught up in an affair. “So devastated she preemptively cheated on him for years,” someone else wrote.
