Rehan was a young boy living with his ailing mother. The 11-year-old had the weight of the world on his shoulders as he found himself tending to his mom’s daily needs.
One day, Rehan went into his living room to find his mother sleeping on the couch. She opened her eyes and gave him a weak but kind smile. He asked his mom if she was OK, to which she replied quietly, “I’m fine.”
A moment later, Rehan’s mother didn’t appear to be fine at all. She broke down in tears and apologized to her son for the life he was living due to her illness. Rehan quickly dismissed his mother’s words and told her that he loved being with her.
After Rehan set his mom up with the essentials she needed to get through the day, he closed the front door behind him and made his way to the costume shop. Even though it was about 6 miles away, Rehan was determined to get there in good time.
When he arrived at the costume store, he looked around and tried to decide which costume he was going to rent for the day. He noted to himself that the SpongeBob SquarePants costume was often a crowd-pleaser, but when he went up to ask the vendor about it, he told him that it had already been rented out for the day.

Rehan quickly chose another costume and set out for a nearby street corner. He got out his little boombox and started playing some music which he pleasantly danced along with. He placed his donation box close by and noticed that those he touched usually dropped a dollar or two into his box.
Why did Rehan have the strength and perseverance to do street performances every day in costume? Watch the video posted by Wonderbot to find out.
