There are new inventions every day. Some are extremely useful, and others not so much. It all does depend on what a person likes and doesn’t like. For me, this newer invention is something I can’t see myself buying, but for others, it could be exactly what they’re looking for.
Inside Edition shared a video about a kissing machine that allows users to make out long distance. This new Chinese-made device’s name translates to “Long Lost Touch” in English, and it was created by Chinese college students.
The inspiration behind the invention was the stories of sadness and isolation that came out of the pandemic lockdowns. This device is the next step to take when video calls are not enough! Now I know you’re probably curious about how this new device actually works. It may sound complicated, but it’s really not that difficult of a process!
Each Long Lost Touch device is paired with a second device, and then the users record their kissing styles. Their recorded kissing styles are then each transmitted to the other set of lips. The device even makes kissing noises!
To top it all off, and to make the process even more realistic for users, the silicone lips warm up when the kisses are sent. To my surprise, this new invention is already in high demand. The company has already sold 3,000 kissing devices and received 20,000 orders in the two weeks it has been accepting orders.

Out of all the inventions that could be conceived, this was definitely not one that came to mind. The message behind why it was made, though, is thoughtful. There was a lot of depression and sadness that came along with the pandemic and lockdown.
I dislike seeing people suffer from loneliness, so if this new device can help people lift their spirits and bring happiness into their lives, I’m all for it! Just make sure if you do buy this new device to keep it PG-13!
