MAGA Influencer Caught Taking Cues For Her Podcast & People Thing She’s Faking It

For some Donald Trump supporters, the best thing to do in between seeing the president’s social media posts and hearing him speak publicly is to listen to MAGA influencers do it. That might be why some tend to gravitate toward MAGA influencer and podcast host Riley Gaines, who hosts the right-wing podcast The Riley Gaines Show.

So when a video was posted on X of Gaines speaking to someone off-camera during the filming and recording of one of her podcast episodes, it quickly went viral. That’s because, in the video, she seems to seek confirmation of the right political terminology to use when speaking of certain political parties. For some, it means that Gaines may be a bit of a fraud.

The MAGA influencer asks for advice off-screen

In the video posted on X, the user who shared it wrote that “it’s all an act” when it comes to Gaines. They added that they believe Gaines is “taking directions on what to say” to those who watch and listen to her. And, if you’re keeping up, that would be an entire fan base of MAGA individuals.

“Wait, tell me the pillars again,” Gaines says, to someone, presumably a producer, off-screen. “So it’s pro-life.” Then, the person lets her know which amendments to go hard for and which are important to Gaines’ fans, apparently. Gaines then directs her attention back to the camera and says, “The First Amendment, the Second Amendment, the sanctity of life, our veterans, I feel very passionately about.”

You can’t really argue that this isn’t some serious proof that Gaines needs help in what to say to reach her target audience. But if that’s the case, then how authentic are her own views? What she says about politics, particularly those linked to right-wing conservatives, is what her fans want from her. So some people think this is enough proof to show that she’s faking it.

“Its been very obvious with her appearances on Piers [Morgan] that she’s got nothing up there and has coasted off the one issue,” an X user wrote under the post. “She’s right about sports, but the way she became a right wing commentary leader is genuinely hysterical and shows how brain rotting tribalist media is.”

Another person added, “The conservative cause has been hijacked and corrupted by these influencers. Having to be coached on what you ‘believe’ in is just pathetic.”

Others pointed out that this is common prep for any on-air personality. However, those who aren’t wild about Trump or MAGA, or even Gaines, were quick to clap back at those users.

“MAGA in a nutshell,” someone commented. “They don’t even know what they believe unless someone tells them!!”

People still think her supporters will stand behind her.

At another point in the video, Gaines again asks someone off-camera how to approach the topic of political issues and asks if she is supposed to say “the left or the right” in reference to different topics. At the end of the video, she says to the camera, with a big smile, “Hello, my name is Riley Gaines and I am a very very proud patriot mobile user and I have been for about two years now.”

Someone pointed out, “MAGA will see this and still follow her, they are beyond salvation.”

“And the dumba– Trumpanzees will still fall for it,” a user added.

The general belief seems to be that, regardless of how “exposed” Gaines might be with this video, depending on what you believe, MAGA supporters will still support her. So fun, right?

She is known for her MAGA-specific content.

Gaines first gained a following when she, as a college athlete, spoke out against a transgender athlete who competed in the women’s team at the 2022 NCAA Division 1 Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships. According to her website, Gaines is an advocate for women who stands up “for women’s safety, privacy, and equal opportunities.”

She is also a conservative activist in politics, and she uses her platform to share those conservative beliefs more often than not. So for her to be exposed, so to speak, it’s kind of a big deal. Even if some of Gaines’ fans don’t think there is any meat to it.
