It was a joyous day for all of the MAGA enthusiasts in the United States when JD Vance and Usha Vance officially welcomed their fourth child together, a boy. So much so that supporters posted about the birth on social media and celebrated in the digital way that know how to do so well, coming together for MAGA and for Vance.
But in one photo shared on X and across other social media platforms, Vance and his family appear together and look a little off. That’s because, according to the X post, MAGA is “whitewashing” Vance’s family to appear as more of a white Christian family meant to lead the country. Usha is of Indian descent and, although she was born and raised in the U.S., her parents did move to the U.S. from India in the 1970’s. Naturally, Usha and Vance’s children are mixed race. But according to some, MAGA doesn’t want that to be as obvious.
The new family photo came out after JD Vance announced the birth of his son.

To be clear, MAGA is in reference to not only politicians in Donald Trump’s administration, but also those who support the regime. So if MAGA is really whitewashing Vance’s family, it could be because Americans prefer to see what they believe to be the stronger image of an American family. No matter how you look at it, though, it’s an uncomfortable topic and terrible idea for anyone involved in MAGA to follow through with.
“Maga influencers are whitewashing JD Vance’s kids so they can justify supporting him,” the user on X wrote, accompanied by what appears to be a new family photo of Vance with his wife and four kids, next to an older photo of Vance, Usha, and their three oldest kids. “And @JDVance is probably fine with it. What f–ked up people!”
The difference between the two photos is that Usha and her kids with Vance have lighter skin tones in the newer photo. In the one that has been posted before and appears to be totally legitimate, Usha, Vance, and their three older kids are outside on a trip to the Taj Mahal. According to the X post, the difference in both photos means that someone in MAGA is trying to purposely change the way Vance’s family appears to the public. Again, very gross.

In the comments in response to the X post, other users agreed that MAGA is behind changing the photo. Some even made jokes about it, though to be fair, the jokes are more at the expense of MAGA than Vance’s family.
“MAGAts deported his brown children and gave him white ones,” one user commented.
Another wrote, “The nom actually looks OK, but all the kids have their dad’s fat face. Kids are always cute though. I bet you they get on AI: ‘Here’s a picture: Make these children look white, and the mom less brown.'”
“Holy crap, that’s messed up even for MAGA’ts but not surprising…lol,” someone added.
Others don’t believe the photo is real.
Because it’s hard to say where the edited photo actually came from, it’s hard to say how real it is or if it was created just to rage bait users on social media. It doesn’t look like an official White House-adjacent account on social media shared the same exact image posted on X, but the photo was shared on an Instagram account called Christian Daily USA, and in a totally un-ironic way.
People aren’t so sure the photo is real or was edited by anyone close to Vance. However, it was edited somewhere, and that means someone who is MAGA may be behind it.
“Maybe this [is] a joke and it’s late and I’m missing something, but those aren’t the same two boys in those pics,” a user pointed out on X. “I’m sure I’m missing the punchline somewhere, but again, it’s late.”
Someone who may be MAGA themselves speculated, “It is a Photoshop created by leftists.” They also added, “You people really have to stop being so gullible.” Alright, then.
