Lonely Widower Hates His Birthday So His Coworkers Decided To Step In & Bring Him To Tears

Even though he wasn’t as young and spry as most of the other kitchen staff, 55-year-old Leo loved being a part of a team that appreciated his skills. He clocked in for every shift on time and enjoyed the camaraderie he experienced working on the kitchen line at the restaurant where he worked.

Even though Leo put on a smiling face at work, he often found himself feeling lonely and sad after the death of his beloved wife. She had died over a decade ago, but she had been the light in his world and ever since her passing, his life had seemed dim.

When he wasn’t working, he spent most evenings at home sitting in front of the television with a frozen dinner. He had become accustomed to watching game shows as they offered him a sense of excitement and intrigue for a few moments.

As Leo’s birthday approached, he found himself filled with a sense of dread. His wife had always made him a strawberry cake to celebrate the occasion, but ever since she died, his birthdays just felt like a sad reminder on the calendar.

When a new employee named Bill started at Leo’s work, he immediately noticed Leo’s sad eyes. As they made conversation, Bill inquired about Leo’s birthday to which Leo reluctantly divulged that it was the day after next.
