Alexander was a hardworking father from Ukraine who worked long shifts at a gas station to provide for his wife and daughter. He often worked overnight shifts and would have to make his way home in the early morning hours.
After working a 10-hour night shift at the gas station, Alexander finished up around 4 a.m. and began to make his way home to finally get some sleep. The streets were completely deserted and Alexander had the heat blasting in his car to help keep him warm.
Even though he was anxious to get home, Alexander made sure to drive slowly this time of night due to his tired eyes. As he drove, he spotted something from a distance that puzzled him. As he got closer, he saw what appeared to be a small child sleeping on a bench at the side of the road completely on their own.
Alexander wasn’t sure what to do, but he knew he needed to do something, so he promptly pulled his car over. As he got out, he saw that the child looked to be no older than 3 years old and was shivering intensely.
As he called out to the young boy, he noticed that he had both of his hands up around his little face, which he was likely hoping would conceal all of his bruises and bloody marks. Alexander gasped and quickly went to grab his phone, but the boy reached out to him and asked him to stop. "Please, no police," the boy said.

Alexander put his phone away and was able to convince the boy to at least get into his car where it was warm. After swiftly eating two chocolate bars that Alexander offered him, the boy quickly fell asleep in the back seat. Alexander let him sleep for a bit, but after a few moments, he knew he needed to call the police.
