Mary Greenwell, a renowned makeup artist, recently recounted her friendship with the late Princess Diana. In a podcast episode, the 63-year-old talked about how their connection went deeper than just makeup. They first started working together in 1981, when Mary was Diana's makeup artist for her first British Vogue cover shoot.
"I used to go and see her at the palace and just hang out with her," Mary shared. "She used to call me up say, 'Can you come and see me?' so I would go round there and give her makeup lessons and hang out with her and the boys.”
“It was an extraordinary time, to be in this person's life on such an intimate level, without any expectation." Mary shared that Princess Diana soon began requesting her makeup services for various official events and shoots. From there, a friendship began to form.
