Meghan Trainor Once Pushed Through An Interview While Fearing She Was Miscarrying

Meghan Trainor is a proud mom of two. She shares sons Riley and Barry with husband Daryl Sabara. Her road to motherhood wasn't always smooth.

On the June 6, 2024, episode of YouTube channel Mythical Kitchen’s “Last Meals," Meghan opened up about a scary time in her pregnancy with Barry. There was a time she thought she was miscarrying. It just so happened to be during an interview with Ryan Seacrest. She powered through the interview before seeking medical attention.

Meghan recalled bleeding after performing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She thought it was her normal period. One month later, she took a pregnancy test and it was positive.

Meghan was delighted to learn she was pregnant. “That morning, I was, like, stoked, beaming with joy, I videotaped it,” she recalled. “I did interviews and they were like, ‘How are you?’ and I said, ‘I’m thriving.’ I was so happy.”

Meghan continued to check interviews off of her to-do list when suddenly she noticed that she was “gushing blood. I ruined a chair," she recalled. The show must go on. “I go, ‘Oh no,’ and they’re like ‘Okay, Ryan Seacrest is on. Go!’” she continued.

Meghan got through the interview like a champ. “I did that whole interview like, ‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry,’ and then got through it. I shut the computer and was like, ‘Hey team I think I’m miscarrying right now,’” she explained. “I went to the bathroom and saw what was happening, and I was like, alright I had a baby this morning, and now they’re gone.”

Meghan still had a little bit of hope left. “I was like I’m just gonna keep testing, and the pregnancy stick still said positive,” she recalled. She then decided to test further. “I got a blood test done, and it’s like the number is zero if you’re not pregnant. My number was 90,000,” she explained.

Meghan was thrilled and made sure to get the prenatal care she needed. That was when she made another shocking discovery. Remember that so-called period?

“At six weeks, I went in, and she goes, ‘Woah, that’s a 10-week-old baby,’” Meghan explained. “I was like, ‘I’ve been pregnant this whole time?!’ So I was pregnant ever since the [Jimmy] Fallon performance.”

The whole experience was a wild ride. “What a nightmare that was,” Meghan mused. “Roller coaster. Like, I told everyone in the household, ‘I’m pregnant!’ and then later, I was like, ‘I lost it.’ It was horrific, and then amazing.”

Thankfully, this story had a happy ending. Barry Bruce Trainor was born on July 1, 2023. Riley is a proud big brother.
