Legendary Boxer Thanks Donald Trump For His Latest Policy Move

Mike Tyson applauded President Donald Trump on Thursday. In a social media post, the legendary boxer thanked Trump for reclassifying cannabis, pointing to the economic implications of a policy change that offers tax relief to state-licensed businesses and recognizes hundreds of thousands of existing jobs.

“Thank you (President Donald Trump) for rescheduling cannabis,” Tyson wrote in an X/Twitter post. “This decision reflects listening to people across the country and taking a practical step toward modernizing outdated policies. It supports American workers, families, and businesses, and allows over 500,000 existing jobs to finally be counted.”

On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order reclassifying cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act. The move is intended to recognize the legitimate medical uses of the plant and alleviate the suffering of patients and veterans.

This marks the most significant shift in federal drug policy in generations, effectively acknowledging that cannabis has a lower potential for abuse than other Schedule I drugs, like heroin.

The order does not legalize marijuana for recreational use nationwide. Instead, it provides federal tax relief for state-licensed cannabis businesses, among other benefits.

As has become the norm since his first term, Trump has created non-stop headlines this week. On top of this highly popular move, he also landed on front pages for his insensitive remarks following the death of Rob Reiner.

In a Truth Social post shared on X/Twitter, Trump called Reiner “tortured and struggling,” claiming that his death was “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

This has led some, like wrestling legend Mick Foley, to cut ties with WWE.. Don’t expect the same from Tyson, a devout Trump supporter.
