In the summer of 2026, Donald Trump was often seen with White House aide Natalie Harp, possibly more than he was seen with his own wife, Melania Trump. And now, on X, people are joking that Natalie is actually “First Lady Natalie Harp.” Others have accused Trump of “outsourcing” Melania’s duties as his wife and first lady to Natalie.
It doesn’t help that Natalie is seen with Trump on national and international trips, and that letters she wrote to the president were leaked to the public. The nature of their relationship has been called into question more than once. Now, people convinced there is more to the story believe Natalie is Trump’s faux first lady.

In the post on X, a video shows Natalie arriving in Ireland with Trump and some of his other White House officials. She has a big smile on her face as she walks past cameras and, although she isn’t on Trump’s arm or even close to him in the clip, users quickly pointed out her close proximity to Trump in that she traveled across the world with him for the trip.
Before the September 2026 trip, though, Natalie accompanied Trump on other international trips in the name of business. When Trump traveled to Turkey for the NATO summit in July 2026 and had to leave the country on a secret flight, Natalie was among the small group of people he took with him. Everyone else, including former press secretary Karoline Leavitt, was left on Air Force One.
In Early September 2026, Natalie was spotted on the golf course with Trump during a weekend getaway to Trump’s club in New Jersey. As a White House aide, Natalie seems to be anywhere Trump might need her. According to Politico, it has been a practice of Trump’s for years to travel with close members of his Cabinet. Now, apparently, that includes Natalie.

In the comments under the X post, users joked that Natalie is Trump’s other wife. Since Melania does not typically accompany Trump on work trips across the world, according to people keeping a close eye on Trump and Natalie’s working relationship, the aide is the next best thing.
“When you outsource the official spouse duties to the woman whose actual White House job description is sprinting after golf carts with a diaper bag,” one user commented on the X post. “At this point, Melania’s absence means she only fully negotiated [the] lease. Is this staffing or marital outsourcing?”
Another person joked, “At least she acts like she is enjoying her job as first lady. It’s so refreshing!”
“Ew how gross,” another added. “She’s there to support her new man.”
He also gave the White House aide a pretty large cash gift.
Another reason people are convinced Trump has a particular affection for Natalie is the cash gift he reportedly gave her. According to The Washington Post, Trump gave $45,000 in cash gifts to Natalie.
He did the same for other White House aides, but conspiracy theorists might take that to mean he was covering his tracks in making sure he treated Natalie to a bonus without drawing too much attention.
Still, the cash gift for multiple aides was above board and in public records. It still isn’t normal, or commonplace, for presidents to give such large cash gifts to White House employees, though.
