There are a lot of things wrong with the idea of Patrick Clancy and his second wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, appearing on 60 Minutes for a sit-down interview. While we could get into what the internet is saying and speculating about the Lindsay Clancy case, one takeaway from this interview was a comment Danis made about her new husband.
In a clip posted on X, Danis commends Patrick as a father. He and his now-ex-wife, Lindsay, shared three children before they were brutally killed by Lindsay due to what she admitted was postpartum psychosis. But because Danis admits admiration for Patrick regarding fatherhood, and his wife was on trial for the murder of their children, his critics are scratching their heads at Danis’s comments.

In the clip, Danis speaks highly of Patrick, who she met in 2024 while out running in Central Park. The pair are expecting their first child together. According to Danis, Patrick is a good father and partner.
“I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted, but I would hope people know that Pat is, as I said before, the most selfless father and supportive partner. And I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
Apparently, social media thinks there’s something wrong with that. Under the video shared on X, users questioned how Danis could know about Patrick’s parenting skills. Others asked for a more clever cut timeline of the relationship.
“How could she honestly speak to his parenting skills if they met after the murders?” One user commented. “Terrible optics.”
Another critiqued, “She practiced that statement 100 times and tries to act like she is speaking off the cuff. Very Cringy.”

Danis and Patrick might have been doomed from the start when it comes to public opinion and their 60 Minutes interview. Although the murders took place more than three years before the interview, it wasn’t until 2026 that the case, because of the trial, began to see national attention.
Armchair detectives and so-called internet sleuths began to pick apart the case and evidence presented in court. As a result, Patrick came under scrutiny, as did his marriage to Lindsay. The timing of the interview might have been an effort to help Patrick share his side of things with the world, but for some of those who don’t know what to make of the case, the televised interview wasn’t a good idea.
On a Reddit post about the 60 Minutes interview, someone wrote, “Still not sure why they did this interview. He had nothing to gain and everything to lose. 60 Minutes was the only winner here.”
Someone agreed, “Especially his new wife. I can see why maybe he felt he needed to set the record straight but I feel like her presence is only going to inflame the crazies, and the whole situation had nothing to do with her anyway.”
Patrick Clancy said he did the best he could as a father.

Later in the 60 Minutes interview, when asked if he is angry with himself for what happened to his children, Patrick says he believes he did the best he could. He also said that he “lives with the outcome.” But for users on TikTok, that isn’t quite good enough.
“Any parent would feel they failed…Even if they didn’t,” one user commented on a TikTok clip from that point in the interview.
Others accused Patrick of having “zero emotion.” Really, though, no matter what Danis and Patrick said in the 60 Minutes interview, the public would push back, and we saw that happen even before the interview aired.
