For the past couple of years, Rachael Ray’s videos have gotten a decent number of comments from fans who claim they can no longer even recognize her because of how much her appearance has changed. The changes fans have observed have sparked concerns about her health and overall well-being. Meanwhile, some people have pushed back on these concerns, arguing that aging is normal, people can change over time, and also, it’s really none of their business in the first place.
Recently, amid all of this speculation, Rachael made some comments about health and aging.
She opened up about her experience with menopause.
During an interview with People, Rachael, 58, revealed that she has not experienced any menopause symptoms. “I have no menopausal signs of any kind,” she told the publication. “My sister’s the same way. She’s 67. She never had them either.”
Rachael then added, “I’ve always had an easy time, just in life, when it comes to that kind of stuff.”
She mentioned that she consults medical experts when making decisions related to her health. “I take my doctor’s advice on hormone replacement or whatever my doctors advise me,” she said.
Rachael also offered some advice.
And while it’s especially relevant to women dealing with menopause, she actually believes it would be beneficial to anyone. As a celebrity chef, Rachael, of course, focused on diet. “You eat lots of color in your diet, which means you’re getting lots of the right vitamins without the need of supplements,” she said, while also revealing that she takes supplements too.
Additionally, she mentioned the importance of having a sense of purpose and prioritizing your mental wellbeing. In her opinion, doing what makes you happy is “a big part to life.”
“Are you eating a colorful diet and are you happy?” she said. “Do you try and get up with purpose every day? I think that helps everyone, male and female.”
Much of the speculation about Rachael has focused on her health.
While some people online remain convinced that “something happened” to her, others argue that there’s an obvious reason she looks different from what they remember: she’s older now. At age 58, it’s hardly shocking that Rachael’s appearance has changed; she’s not in her 30s anymore.
Earlier this year, when a video Rachael posted on social media had people claiming that she’s “not aging well” and potentially “having health problems,” multiple fans jumped to her defense in the comments.
“Y’all do know folks age and go through challenges in their bodies,” one commenter wrote at the time. “Let’s grow up.” Others questioned why people were speculating about her health to begin with. “‘Cause she gained weight and looks older?” one person asked. “Sometimes that happens in life you know.” In 2024, she also sparked concerns because fans thought she was slurring her words in a video.
Although she has periodically shared general updates (and advice for women dealing with menopause), Rachael has not directly commented on fans’ concerns about her health or her appearance. Of course, she’s not obligated to do so. In 2025, however, she did address the claims that she had “disappeared” from the spotlight.
She seemed confused that she has made headlines due to her supposedly “rare” public appearances. “I work my a– off all the time,” she told Us Weekly at the time. “And I never left. I just switched over to A+E and new partners, that’s all. But I’ve been working constantly. From the time I left the daytime show, I started writing. I write around the clock, and I produce shows with my friends around the clock.”
“So I don’t know why people thought I left,” she added. “I guess we did a crap job of promoting it.”
