Sharon Stone Suffered Horrible Pain & Incorrect Procedure Before Uterine Fibroid Diagnosis

Historically, there has not been enough research on important women’s health issues, which means there is still so much to learn. Women’s symptoms are often not taken seriously, compounding the issue. Actor Sharon Stone took to Instagram to remind women to be their own advocates.

She shared about her own recent health struggle getting a correct diagnosis. Sharon revealed on social media that she has to get a fibroid tumor removed but it took worsening pain, a misdiagnosis, and an incorrect procedure for her to get the answers she needed.

Sharon opened up about this on November 1, 2022 on both X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, and her Instagram stories. “Just had another misdiagnosis and incorrect procedure,” Sharon wrote. “This time double epidural.”

Sharon also shared her "worsening pain" motivated her to get a second opinion. It was this moxie that got her the correct diagnosis. "I have a large fibroid tumor that must come out," explained. The terms fibroid tumor and uterine fibroid can be used interchangeably — fibroids are noncancerous growths in the uterus.
