This video story from Wonderbot shares how a mother was doing some routine cleaning when she stumbled across her son’s diary and what she found inside made her call the authorities.
It seemed like a regular day in the fall of 2019 when Nicole Schubert was making her way around her home, powering through some cleaning. While tidying up, she came across her then-17-year-old son’s journal. Nicole was curious about what was happening in her son’s life, so she decided to take a peek inside his diary.
To her horror, what she discovered in his diary changed their lives forever.
According to Good Morning America, Nicole found details in her son’s journal about a plan for a horrific killing spree that he was going to begin in his own home, so she decided to call the police in order to protect both her son and others from potential harm.
“It was very descriptive. It was just heartbreaking. I didn’t really want to know the details,” Nicole explains in an interview with GMA.

Nicole describes that her son’s journal divulged plans about how he would kill his own mother and then attack his high school in Washington state where he was in his senior year at the time.
