Who knew that people had such strong opinions about OnlyFans content creators participating in swimsuit fashion shows? Apparently, it’s a thing, because the internet came for OnlyFans creator Sophie Rain after she walked in Miami Swim Week in 2026. Later, she clapped back at the criticisms as only she can through social media.
Rain is a 23-year-old creator on OnlyFans who once spoke openly about earning almost $43 million in just one year. It makes sense for her to be invited to Miami Swim Week, especially with other non-professional model celebrities there. But she probably didn’t expect such hate right off the bat after she shared videos from the event on Instagram.
Sophie Rain’s content is usually more adult-oriented.
Rain is known for being a young but successful OnlyFans creator. For some, that means she shouldn’t have bridged the gap between adult content creator and runway model, even if the latter was temporary for Miami Swim Week. After Rain posted one video on Instagram, the comments flooded in to criticize her and her decision to walk the runway.
“They really just let anyone walk runways now,” an Instagram user commented.
“What are you doing for?” Someone else questioned. “Definitely not money because you got plenty.”
Another person commented, seemingly in response to Rain’s supporters. They wrote, “She is far from a runway model. C’mon people.”
Mostly, people took issue with Rain’s lack of skill as a runway model. Apparently, if you have one talent as an influencer you should stick with that. But those are the sentiments of Rain’s haters when it comes to Miami Swim Week.
“Yeah, you’ll never be a real model dear. Nice try though, ” someone commented under another video that Rain posted from Swim Week.
“It’s apparent that it does indeed take talent to be a runway model, which Sophie doesn’t have,” another user added.
She did receive praise from her supporters and followers, though. Some commented that Rain was a perfect addition to the show. Others wrote that she has the “perfect” body and that other women should look more like her. But it’s the highly critical comments that, for some, shined through more.
She spoke out against her haters.
Sophie shared another Instagram video where she wrote in the caption a response to her haters. It was a clear dig at those who have criticized her. She also casually addressed the critiques involving her decision to participate in the modeling event. A lot of Rain’s critics, and really, those who are opposed to OnlyFans as a whole, did not support her participation in the event since she is not a traditional model.
She wrote in text on the screen, “Making the entire internet mad that I walked Miami Swim Week because I’m a #youngho.”
She added in the caption, “Bops can be models too.”
Clearly, she has seen and heard the criticisms from haters regarding Miami Swim Week. But as a millionaire content creator, it didn’t seem to phase her.
Other non-traditional models walked the runway too.
And let’s be totally fair here. Rain is far from the only participant who walked in the show without proper modeling or runway experience. Stassi Schroeder, for example, who was a Vanderpump Rules star back in the day, also walked at Miami Swim Week. Singer and content creator Virginia Sanhouse was also there to walk the runway. So really, despite the callouts from the haters, Rain was in good company.
Rain walked the runway, posted the receipts, and kept it moving. For someone pulling in $43 million a year, the comment section probably looks a little different.
