What to Know
Another Celebrity Apprentice alum is sharing how he really feels about President Donald Trump, and he’s not holding back. Some people who were on the reality TV show, such as Lisa Rinna, didn’t seem to have an issue with the current president when he was just an entertainer, but even before Trump entered politics, Survivor winner Richard Hatch thought Trump was “the worst.”
During an interview with The Caftan Chronicles, Hatch said Trump wasn’t a “mean” person when he knew him, but he was “grotesquely manipulative.”
Hatch was on ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ in 2011.

But he actually knew Trump before that, he explained during the interview. Trump did not make a great impression during the time that they knew each other, based on how Hatch described him. “I know him personally and spent a lot of time with him. I was on Celebrity Apprentice, but I knew him for three years before that,” Hatch said. “He is probably the worst human being I’ve ever met in my life.” And while it would probably seem like a harsh or dramatic description when talking about most people, a lot of people online trusted the way Hatch described the president. “Most of us didn’t need to meet, or even be around him, to reach this conclusion,” one person wrote on Reddit.
Hatch also explained his feelings about Trump in more detail. He described him as someone who needs to be the center of attention, also suggesting that he’s an opportunist.
“He wasn’t mean,” Hatch explained. “He’s one of the most effective people in a room I’ve ever met, but affable isn’t the word. He’s grotesquely manipulative. It’s all about what he can get out of any situation.”
He continued, “I would stare at him and watch him use the room to his desperate need for attention, and how he would play people, talk to this one person and then turn around and tear them down to the next person. He’s really awful.”
Meanwhile, another ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ alum didn’t notice any red flags.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna also appeared on the show, and Trump didn’t seem to bother her at all at the time. In her book, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, she wrote, “There were no signs back then that he’d become the monster he is today. Trump was a great entertainer. He would come out, say his lines, do his job, and move it along.”
Back then, Rinna didn’t even find Trump “gross.” She explained, “I do find it interesting that I didn’t think Trump was gross at the time. He was nice to me, he was professional, and on time. That’s all you ever want on a set.”
Although she seemingly liked him more than Hatch did, she doesn’t feel the same way anymore. “Flash forward to today, I really dislike him,” she said. “I think he’s horrible and has ruined the world. I was as shocked as anybody at who he became. Maybe he’s always been that way and he finally took the mask off.”
