T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are reportedly prepared to defend themselves as needed if they are fired from Good Morning America. The pair made headlines in late 2022 when their months-long affair was revealed.
According to TMZ, the two have not been given a clear answer about why they were taken off Good Morning America.
ABC initially told the pair and viewers that they would not face any recourse for an affair between consenting adults, but the network reversed its decision days later. Now the two plan to file lawsuits if they are not allowed to return to work.
Race might play a factor in the lawsuits. TMZ notes that lawyers plan to ponder a key question: "Has ABC ever used the morals or conduct clause to fire or discipline 2 consenting adults at equal levels when both were white?"
