Ally Anderson was a huge Taylor Swift fan who was diagnosed with stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma when she was 11 years old. The treatment for this rare soft tissue cancer was not easy. Taylor’s music helped her through the hard times. She was beyond thrilled to receive her 22 fedora on July 1, 2023, while attending Taylor's Eras Tour.
Sadly, Ally died on November 13, 2023. Ally’s mom Patty Garner Anderson will never forget Taylor’s kindness and hopes to someday tell her what it meant to her daughter. She is forever grateful.
Despite her grief, Patty looks back fondly on that night. "It changed my daughter's life immensely," Patty told People. "I hadn’t seen Ally smile and laugh like that in a very long time."
Ally posted about the night on TikTok. She shared a video of her putting the hat on her head in her bathroom with the caption “what happened.” She also shared the big moment when Taylor presented her with it. "No words to describe what it felt like to be pulled from my seats to the floor," she wrote. "I knew immediately. taylor was my first concert so many years ago. honestly such a full circle moment."

Patty thinks even Ally’s death pays homage to Taylor. "As you know Taylor Swift’s favorite number is 13. Ally passed away on 11/13/23 at 13:40. The 13th day during the 13th hour,” she explained.
