What to Know
President Donald Trump has a 39% approval rating, but at least he’s doing well on TikTok, right? On January 5, Trump took to Truth Social to boast about his success on the platform. The graphic he shared was titled “Trump on TikTok” and dated December 22, 2025. The “2025 Year in Review” graphic includes various statistics about the president’s performance on the social media platform, and alleges that “Trump TikToks” have garnered 339 billion views.
Given that Trump is president and is particularly controversial, it’s not exactly surprising that tons of people are watching content about him, whether they like him or not. But regardless, Trump seems to see this attention as a real achievement worth celebrating.
The graphic includes Trump’s “most viewed key moments and wins” of 2025.
Several significant events and topics during the first year of Trump’s second term resulted in a lot of popular TikTok content. Was it all positive? Somehow, that doesn’t seem likely. But that doesn’t seem to matter to Trump. According to the graphic, videos about Trump’s inauguration managed to get six billion views in total, making it the most popular type of Trump content on the platform. Videos about Trump and Charlie Kirk and videos “on Trump’s Peace Deals” were reportedly the second most popular, each garnering four billion views.
He also boasted about how well the White House and @teamtrump performed on TikTok, in addition to his personal account.
He claimed to be the most followed politician.
Trump has about 16 million followers on TikTok, and according to the graphic he shared, no other world leader or politician has more TikTok followers than he does. In his most recent post on the platform, he takes credit for “saving” TikTok and tells young people who like using the platform that they “owe” him.

“To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big, and now you’re looking at me in the Oval Office,” he said in the October 2025 video. “And someday, one of you are gonna be sitting right at this desk, and you’re gonna be doing a great job also.”
And sure, a lot of people have watched the video, but the comments are not exactly complimentary. One comment reads, “Trump is the worst president ever 💯💯” Another TikTok user wrote, “We owe you nothing.” A third person even urged the president to read the comments on his videos to get a better sense of how people actually feel about him (rather than just relying on his numbers on the platform for an ego boost). “Trump…read the comments… WE HATE WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO OUR COUNTRY!!!!” they commented.
