What to Know
There might not be evidence of Donald Trump admitting to using orange foundation on a daily basis, but that hasn’t stopped people from speculating or even outright assuming it to be a fact that he does. So when he appeared in an Oval Office meeting with a particularly orange complexion, a user on X (formerly Twitter) was quick to call him out.
You can’t not take notice when Trump is suddenly far more orange than usual. Likewise, people might talk when Trump is less orange than usual. Apparently, the American people have become accustomed to a very specific shade of orange for Trump, and the orange shown on his face in the video on X is not it.

Donald Trump’s “otherworldly hue of orange” was hard to miss.
In the video on X, where Trump meets with other leaders in the Oval Office, his face does look like it is a more vibrant and obvious shade of orange. You don’t get that orange just by waking up like that, my guy. The user on X wrote, “Trump is an otherworldly hue of orange today.” Compared to other instances where Trump looked orange to literally everyone, the shade of his complexion in the video is noticeably different.
“Seriously. What’s up with this?” One user replied to the X post. “Did he drive through plutonium?” Someone else speculated, “He’s wearing all this make up to hide his health decaying.”
Others likened Trump’s orange complexion in this particular video to that of the oompa loompas in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. “He finally got accepted for that new position working at Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory,” someone joked.
Another user claimed they know someone who once worked with Trump and who has inside information about that orange color.
“I knew someone who worked with him (unfortunately),” they wrote. “He calls it his ‘golden complexion.’ It’s a unique and specific tone sprayed on him. Yes, it’s airbrushed on. His obsession with gold is that real.”
Technically, Trump has never admitted to wearing makeup.
To be fair, Trump has never outright admitted to using makeup, let alone orange makeup, on his face. In 2019, Vanity Fair reported that the alleged tan Trump had at the time was due to, per a White House official, “good genes.” That tan, by the way, was the orange hue Trump had, even back then during his first term in the White House.
But Trump has never admitted to wearing orange foundation. Vanity Fair also reported that Trump applies transparent foundation to help with the effects of rosacea, but not that Trump specifically uses orange makeup. Whatever the case may be, though, Trump’s orange complexion in no way appears to be his natural skin tone in any way.
