A woman is sharing an incredible experience that only few people have ever claimed to have. She says that as a 3-year-old child, she drowned after being underwater for about 20 minutes. Miraculously, after dying, she came back to life.
She posted what she remembers of the incident on Reddit under the username Ladylavenderrrr. In the post, she revealed that when she woke up, she knew things she could never have known. She even says she saw her grandmother's dead mother, whom she had never met or seen pictures of, who told her to go back into her body.
The woman began the post by revealing how she ended up drowning in the first place. "On the property we lived on, there were these cisterns that had rain water in them," she writes. "I was only 3, and these holes in the ground were too deep for me to safely be in, and I fell in one and yes, drowned."
Finally, after running around the property, her father found her at the bottom of the water-storing tank. "He still didn't find me until he ran by one of the cisterns, and felt a 'hit' on his back or chest… He then looked to one of the cisterns, saw something shiny in there, jumped in, and found me at the bottom and pulled me out."
The woman says that her body was at the very bottom of the tank. "When he pulled me out of the water, I was not breathing and blue all over," she revealed. Even though she had been underwater for such a long time, CPR was performed, and somehow she was brought back to life. Then she was airlifted to a hospital.
In the hospital, that's when things got even more bizarre. When the young girl woke up, her grandmother was there. "I told her that it was peaceful where I was, I didn't want to go back."
She even said that she saw her grandmother's mother, whom she had never met. "I'm only 3 and had never met her mother so how the heck did I know what she looked like. I knew her name as well, and this terrified my grandmother, as she had never brought her mother up to me before."
She also described a scene similar to what others have shared about their "death" experiences. "I also told her I saw a tunnel, bright lights, and then her mother." Because of what she saw, she says she completely believes there is life after death. "I do believe in an afterlife because of this, because it's really hard not [to] when you firsthand experienced it."
It's been 25 years since the incident, and she says that though her grandmother can't remember everything she told her, she did write it down. However, the book she wrote it in has been lost.
The young girl was told by doctors that her survival was nothing short of a miracle. But now, whenever she recounts it, of course people don't believe it. Still, she insists that it's true and believes she has angels watching over her.
"I also see angel numbers, in the form of usually 222, 333, 444, and I see them frequently. Like every day," she writes. "Someone told me that these are messages from your 'guardian angels' or 'spirit guides' and I truly have a hunch that it could be my great-grandmother who guided me back to my body. That may sound crazy but it's what I want to believe."
