Preparing for a wedding doesn't just mean making arrangements for a big party for friends and family. It's also a celebration of love and a time to think about what marriage really means. There's little more daunting and more exciting than the prospect of spending the rest of your life with the person you love.
Even if you're confident that your marriage will stand the test of time, it doesn't hurt to have a few good luck charms! For 23-year-old bride Jordan Delgado, this meant following tradition and wearing something borrowed: her grandmother and mother's wedding dress.
During her wedding to the love of her life, Patrick, she wore the 1953 dress and looked absolutely stunning. All it needed was a few alterations and she was ready to walk down the aisle! She wore the dress in hopes that it would give her the same good luck her mother and grandmother had in their marriages, as both women have been married a combined total of 100 years.
Jordan and Patrick just tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony.
But it was Jordan's dress that was the centerpiece of the wedding!
The wedding dress is from 1953, which was when her grandmother first wore it. Jordan's mother then wore it in 1981. Jordan is the third generation to get married in the same dress!
Jordan's mom, Lynn Mitterholzer, and her grandmother, Jean Beckdahl, were overjoyed to see her marry in the dress they once wore.
The two women have been married to their respective spouses for 100 years, and the dress is likely to bring the new bride good luck in her marriage!
The dress needed just a few new patches of lace and some alterations, but it otherwise fit Jordan like a glove.
Jordan also wore a veil her grandmother had made for her mother.
Jordan looks absolutely stunning — and most importantly, happy!
