Watching a child suffer is never something that anyone wants to do, especially when it is completely out of their control and unchangeable the way Jacob's illness had proven to be.
When we are introduced to the Berry family, we see that there is nothing anyone can do to change these children's fate.
But, there is something they do to get through their new journey, after their unexpected accident. They smile.
Through their losses, their injuries, their surgeries, and every emotional and physical battle that they've gone through since 2011, they smile.
That is something that shows their strength. Something many of us might not be able to say we do through a bad day at work, or a gloomy weekend alone.
Peter and Aaron were only 8 and 9 years old when this tragedy struck their family, and their bodies. They were both left paralyzed from the waist down, but their sister was thankfully left without long-lasting physical harm.
When everyone saw their story on the news, the people in their hometown of Houston worked together to help them get through this, with as much ease and happiness as possible. And that ended up including a famous football player.
When the information about how this all happened with their parents is heard, your eyes may water, but the way that these kids persevere through it all is inspiring.
