5-Year-Old Steps Up To The Microphone, Then Judges Give Her An Impossible Word To Spell

Spelling is not for everyone — it's certainly not my cup of tea.

I'll never forget the third-grade qualifying round of my school's spelling bee, when I was asked to spell poison… and totally got it wrong.

And though I eventually got to be, at the very least, proficient at spelling, some people absolutely excel at it.

Spelling bee whiz kids can form the most unfathomable words in their minds and spell them with ease — can you image being able to do that?

It's all rooted in a knowledge of different languages' words and the special rules that they use when spelling them — something that I would never imagine a full-grown adult to know, let alone a small child!

But that's what makes Edith Fuller so extraordinary.

During a competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the 5-year-old battled against children as old as 15 to eventually win the entire bee.

She got every single word right, though she should barely be able to spell at her age, and her victory means that she'll be competing in the gauntlet of all spelling bees, the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Her knack for spelling truly needs to be seen to be believed, so check down below to watch some of the words she was challenged to spell — I didn't know a single one!
