For teens all over the country, prom is on the top of everyone's mind. They're worried about who they'll go with, what they'll wear, and how they'll get there.
Perhaps for the more ambitious few, they're wondering if they will earn enough votes to become Prom King and Queen.
Enter: Betty Johnson. She is 78-years-old, and recently got all made and dressed up for her prom: the Hope Creek Care Center prom.
The facility, located in East Moline, Illinois, hosts the event for its elderly residents. And this year, no one had more fun than Betty.
Her husband Leo jokes that she was the one to ask him to marry her. That's believable, considering she was the one to ask him to prom this time around!
Betty never attended her prom. The two always preferred roller-skating to dancing.
But this time, the two were happy to finally attend prom, and they danced the night away.
Then, at 7 p.m., Betty was stunned and speechless when she was named Prom Queen! She was beyond thrilled, and even wore a crown.
Betty looked absolutely lovely, don't you think?
She told WQAD: "I'm speechless! I'm very very very happy. I don't think I can keep the tears from coming."
