After Her Sick Grandpa Suddenly Dies, 8-Year-Old Raises Hundreds Of Dollars For Him

It's always tough to lose a beloved family member. Whether it's sudden, or something that had been expected for a while, it never gets any easier.

And, in the wake of these tragedies, it can be difficult to find an outlet for your sadness or a way to bring yourself some comfort.

But, with time, you find your way and sometimes you even find a mission in your mourning.

For 8-year-old Allison Olson Schmidt, her grandpa's passing after a battle with prostate cancer sent her on an important journey.

In an effort to raise money for prostate cancer awareness, Schmidt ran a bake sale with tons of delicious goodies.

She had no idea of the success she was about to have and the wonderful message she would spread. Schmidt raised nearly $6oo with her bake sale, all of which she donated to the Zero Prostate Cancer Run and Walk.

Her dad, Michael, explained that while the incredible amount of money is great, he's taking an extra bit of pride in his daughter's huge heart.

At such a young age, his little girl has proven to be both kind and giving — two qualities that every parent hopes to successfully instill in their children.

And this is just the beginning for the charitable little girl!

Please SHARE this incredible girl's heart with everyone you know!
