Seeing your child or baby in danger is every parent's worst nightmare. But when something happens, and you have no idea what to do, panic can set in quickly.
New mom Nicole Bechtle had just finished feeding her 3-month-old son, Zane, when she noticed he'd stopped breathing and turned blue! This mom did everything she knew to revive him but eventually had to call 911 for help.
"He started turning different shades of blue. His body just went limp. It was like holding a ragdoll," said Bechtle.
In the 911 call audio, obtained by 9NEWS, the female operator with West Metro Fire stayed calm as she instructed the new mom how to save her son's life. After about two minutes, baby Zane took a deep breath and let out a loud cry.
"That cry that most people would find annoying was like an 'ahhh moment' to me,"said Bechtle. "The weight on my shoulders from that situation was lifted and I knew he was going to be okay at that moment."
This is one call no parent ever wants to make, which is why it's important for first time parents to know how to perform CPR — because every second counts!
Zane was taken to the hospital where he was checked out, and he's doing just fine. Now, Bechtle hopes to find out the name of the 911 dispatcher on the other end of the line who helped save her baby.
"I'm going to try to figure out who she is because I would really like to thank her," she said.
Let's help her find this amazing woman, and please SHARE this story with all your family and friends on Facebook.
