12-Year-Old Girl Refuses To Quit And Accidentally Runs A Half-Marathon

Exercise, though good for the mind, body, and soul, doesn't come easily to everyone. The physical stress isn't something many people enjoy, and many prefer to ease into an activity rather than pushing the limits of their body. However, others push these limits further and further by testing their stamina and endurance during races. Amateur athletes sign up for long distance races like 10K, half-marathons, and even marathons! It's no easy feat to complete any of these, and anyone who does gets a medal for a reason!

So when a 12-year-old girl finished a Rochester, NY, half-marathon, it came as a shock to her family, but to her as well! Though LeeAdianez Rodriguez is proud that she completed all 13.1 miles, she wasn't meant to. In fact, she only signed up for the 5K — a 3.1-mile race. Up until that morning, she had only been training for that amount of distance.

She and her mom thought that they were late for the 5K race, when they were actually 15 minutes early. As LeeAdianez ran, her mom waited at the finish line. After an hour, she grew concerned for her daughter's safety — she wasn't supposed to take so long…

Meanwhile, the girl continued to run. Around the fourth mile, she found out the real distance, and continued until the finish line, nonetheless… And she made it, even without previous training!
