Many men and women in the military are parents to young children. When they get deployed overseas, they may not get to see their children for long stretches of time, which can range from a few months to well over a year. It's hard on a family to have an absent loved one, even if this loved one is serving our country. But those parents and children look forward to nothing more than to see one another again.
With that in mind, three brothers got the surprise of a lifetime while attending a school assembly. They thought it was just a regular gathering of the student body, where their mom was being recognized for her work in the Air Force, even if she wasn't present. They're even invited to stand in front of all the students!
These three boys haven't seen their mom in two months, which is a considerable amount of time. We're sure they missed their mom every day — but in this moment, they have no idea that she's about to enter the room.
