When Alexa Vaughan took her 18-month-old daughter on a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather outside, she never expected what came next.
She was pushing her baby girl's stroller back from the convenience store when she started to feel uncomfortable.
In the video below, posted on May 4, 2017, Alexa recalls what would have been an abduction.
She noticed three men watching her. "They were trying to holler at me or whatever," she explains.
Although she was startled by the strange men, she kept walking and tried not to think too much of it. Then a simple touch told her she was in danger.
"He grabbed me by the waist and tried to lift her into the van and I freaked out basically," Alexa recalls. The strong mom realized she needed to act fast to save herself and her little one from abduction.
"I just socked him in the throat, in the Adam's apple to get him to drop [her], which he did," she says. "And then I turned around to my guy, which I shoved my thumb into his eyeball."
After other moms in the neighborhood heard of the attempted abduction, they rallied around and learned they need to keep a closer eye out on the streets.
