‘Mad Men’ Star Vincent Kartheiser Files For Divorce From Alexis Bledel After 8 Years

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser are calling it quits.

Vincent, who starred in the hit show Mad Men, filed for divorce from the actress on August 10 in New York's Putnam County Court. Alexis's rep confirmed the news, as well.

The couple had been married for eight years.

The couple met on the set of Mad Men back in 2012, when Alexis appeared in season five of the show. Vincent played Pete Campbell on the series, and Alexis played his mistress.

A romance quickly bloomed between the pair. They were spotted kissing soon after working together on the show.

They wed in a private ceremony in 2014.

The Gilmore Girls star, 40, and Vincent, 43, have had a notoriously private relationship. They avoid posting about their romantic life on social media and rarely talk about their relationship in interviews. According to Vincent, there was an important reason for that.

He told Vulture in 2014 about their private love. "It's something I realized about the most important things in my life," he said. "If I share them with the world and I open that door to their fuming anger that they need to get out or their adoration that they want to flaunt, it lessens it."

He continued, "It cheapens it; it weakens it. And it's magical, love, and all of that is profoundly spiritual, and it just doesn't feel right."

The couple seemed like a perfect fit. Vincent's Mad Men costar Elizabeth Moss said, “They are such a yin and yang,” near the start of their relationship. “I’ve known Vinny for 12 years and Alexis is just the sweetest. I’ve never seen Vincent like this. It is really cool.”

Alexis and Vincent share one child together, whom they have kept out of the spotlight.
