For two days, a stray dog now known as Nelson was running on an Ontario highway in -40 degree weather. Finally, he was found scared and in a ditch – but no one claimed him as their own. That's when an amazing group called Animal Advocates took Nelson in. It wasn't until the first doctor's appointment that they confirmed Nelson was completely blind, yet it was clear he had a heart of gold.
In this video, we meet a group of fourth and fifth graders who heard Nelson's story and helped pay for his medical bills! They also invited Nelson to come to their class, and teach them about adoption and how to care for pets who need special help. They immediately fell in love with Nelson's kind heart and even continued their efforts to help animals by setting up adoption fundraisers at their school. What an incredible "tail" of love and generosity!! If all kids met and learned from a dog like Nelson, the world would surely be a sweeter, more loving place.
