When a member of the military comes back home to his friends and family, there's no better relief from the constant worry for their well-being and safety. The love we have for our men and women in uniform is an overwhelming force capable of stopping us in our tracks, bringing us to our knees, and reducing us to tears. And for the kids who can't wait for the moment Mom or Dad comes home, seeing them for the first time in months can stop them in their tracks and leave them speechless.
That was the case for 9-year-old Trey and his sister, 3-year-old Caroline. The two are students at the Cornerstone Christian Academy in Rainsville, AL, and they haven't seen their dad in nine months. Sergeant First Class Johnny Stewart was deployed to Kosovo for those nine months, and before returning home, he decided to surprise his kids at school.
The school's gym was packed with students waiting to hear the steel drum band — and one of the school's coordinators calls on a few students to lead the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. One of those students is Trey, and little does he know that his dad is waiting for him behind closed doors…
Now, watch when the Army dad walks out into the middle of the room, where his son waits… The incredible moment was caught on camera, and little Trey can barely believe his eyes!
