Ashley Graham is getting candid about her life as a mom.
The 32-year-old supermodel mama appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday. The episode was guest-hosted by Stephen "tWitch" Boss and his wife, Allison Holker. Naturally, the three got to talking about their parenting experiences.
Ashley's a new mom, having welcomed son Isaac Menelik Giovanni with husband Justin Ervin this January. The host couple decided to pick her brain on what it's been like. Allison and tWitch have a new addition of their own, 11-month-old daughter Zaia.
Ashley surprised the seasoned parents, who also have 12-year-old Weslie and 4-year-old Maddox at home. In a parenting-themed version of the game "Never Have I Ever," Ashley revealed she's tried her own breast milk.
The admission was shocking to tWitch and Allison, who revealed they'd never tasted breast milk. Ashley's tried it — and more than once! She sang its praises in her explanation.
Ashley Graham never shies away from the real. So when she was challenged to play a parenting-themed game of "Never Have I Ever" on Ellen, we knew we were about to hear the nitty-gritty of her parenting experience so far. The episode was guest-hosted by Stephen "tWitch" Boss and his wife, Allison Holker.
During the game, tWitch shared a statement about breastfeeding for the three to get real about. "Never have I ever tried breast milk more than once," he said.
While he and Allison held up "Mama has never" and "Dad has never" paddles, Ashley proudly held hers on the "Mama has" side.
"What?" Allison remarked. "You've tried breast milk?"
"Yes, I put a little bit," she gestured a bottle. "You know, just to try a little bit. It tastes good."
"No, I've never done that," Allison admitted.
"Have you ever squirted it across the room?" Ashley joked.
"No? Is it just me?"
Ashley also had another experience that Allison, a mom of three, had not. She shared that she's fallen asleep while breastfeeding before.
"Yes, definitely," Ashley said. "A million times."
Ashley's been very open with her breastfeeding journey. Just a week ago, Ashley shared a photo of her son feeding while standing.
"Standing feedings are a thing now my big boy! He's not walking, but crawling and pulling himself up everywhere!"
Ashley loves sharing the adventures she's having in motherhood, but she's never trying to impose her way on anyone else. She's consciously tried to hold back on giving advice to others unless they ask.
"I've got a couple of family members who are pregnant, and my instinct is to say, 'Oh, do this, do that,'" she told Kristen Bell in a conversation for Elle's August 2020 issue.
"But I stop myself every time, because I remember how I felt when everybody told me what to do and sent me their unsolicited advice and their lists," she explained.
"If there's a question to be asked, ask it. But other than that, keep your trap shut and just let that mother figure it out. The mommy-shaming on social media is out of control."
During that interview, Ashley said she wasn't sleep-training her baby boy, but his natural sleep schedule wasn't too bad.
"He only wakes up maybe once or twice in the night, max," Ashley said.
"I feel 100 percent rested, so it's not like I'm living in agony every day like, 'He didn't sleep last night.'"
Ashley and Justin have been home with Isaac since March, though the little family relocated from New York to the family farm in Nebraska. Though the world has been weird, she feels grateful for this uninterrupted time with the baby.
"Experiencing every single moment with him has been a dream come true," she said.
"I feel really bad for the next kid because I don't know if they're going to get this much attention."
