Ashley has photographed countless brides and grooms on their wedding days. However, her favorite photoshoot of all was the one where she got to witness her best friend surprising her unsuspecting husband with a pregnancy announcement.
Missee and Matt are Ashley and Randy's best friends. When Missee learned she was pregnant for the first time, the wives decided to team up for an incredible surprise reveal.
In September 2013, Matt thought he was spending the day with Missee, Ashley, and Randy to help test out some new photography equipment and posing techniques — but little did he know he'd be getting the best news of his life.

Ashley and Randy are a married couple from North Dakota. They have four kids and run a photography business together.
Missee and Matt are Ashley and Randy's best friends. “They are auntie and uncle to our kiddos; they are our date night friends; they are who we call at 3 a.m.”
When Missee and Matt decided to start trying to get pregnant, Ashley and Randy were absolutely thrilled, and they waited for the good news with baited breath.
In September 2013, Missee sent Ashley a picture of her positive pregnancy text.
That's when the two girlfriends devised an “evil plan” to surprise Matt in the best way possible…
…meaning Missee would have to keep the pregnancy a secret from Matt for two whole days.
Randy was standing next to Ashley when Missee texted her with the good news.
“When I started screaming with joy and jumping up and down like a lunatic, he just knew it was Missee telling me she was pregnant,” Ashley wrote on her blog.
Randy texted Matt and said since the four of them were free on a Friday afternoon, he wanted to practice some photography poses with Matt and Missee.
Matt agreed to a “mock photoshoot,” but little did he know he's be getting the best news of his life.
Under the pretense of teaching Randy how to photograph different poses, he and Ashley coordinated a day of picture-taking.
Ashley writes, “I told Matt that sometimes I have couples write little love notes to each other on a chalkboard, and then you show it to each other and ‘Awww, how cute, kiss kiss kiss!’”
“So Matt went first… and then Missee went…
“…and the rest is history!”
“I am SO proud of Missee for keeping it a secret for a couple of days, because his reaction was worth every minute of the wait!!!”
“Randy and I couldn’t be more thrilled for our wonderful friends, who will make the best parents possible.”
The entire shoot only lasted about 10 minutes, but the still shots capturing the states of Matt's reaction will last a lifetime.
