An Autistic Boy Learns To Say “I Love You.” His Teacher? Unbelievable!

Oliver Smith is severely disabled. He has autism, carpal palsy, suffers from epilepsy, and is visually impaired. Understandably, he often had a difficult time communicating.

Lucy the dog had a difficult time as well. She was training to become a guide dog, but didn’t quite make the cut.

It’s no wonder that these two got along as perfectly as kibbles and bits when they first met, and quickly became best friends. Or best buddies, I should say.

A buddy dog is what a pup becomes when they are trained but don't quite make it to full-fledged guide dog status. These well-trained canines in need of a career change are then sent to people with different types of disabilities who can benefit from such a pooch, such as Oliver, who completely transformed through the love of his new furry friend, Lucy.

To see their beautiful friendship blossom, and discover how Oliver learned to communicate through Lucy, grab a box of tissues, and watch the video below.
