By the age of 4, Ava Hutchinson had overcome not one, but two brain tumor diagnoses. Her battle began when she was just 2 years old.
Her fighter's spirit and optimism helped her beat the disease the first time around. For five years, her scans were clear. She began to catch up with her peers developmentally, and her life was on the path to normalcy.
Then, on the sixth year, devastating news came back from the doctor: Her cancer was back for a third time as a result of her prior treatment. This time, however, the cancer is terminal. Chemo will slow the growth, but the family's only hope is a miracle.
From here on out, the Hutchinsons are dedicated entirely to making each present moment as good as it can be for their daughter.
When they heard what her wish was for her 10th birthday was, they didn't hesitate to ask the world over to help make it come true.

The response to Ava's birthday wish was so great that it took a whole caravan of Jeeps to deliver the birthday cards to her home.
Joni Hutchinson, Ava's mother, says that her daughter is the one who's carrying through these trying times. Every day is fleeting, and both parents have taken off of work to spend as much time with Ava as possible, but Ava's attitude is the glue keeping this family from falling apart.
Can you imagine receiving this news as a parent? Or, even more so, as the little girl? Her outlook is truly inspiring, and a sign of true strength. These birthday cards from all across the world will only add to the positivity that's keeping the family afloat.
