Ayesha Curry has weathered a lot of rumors about her marriage, but the most recent has prompted her to speak out.
Ayesha has enjoyed a decade of marriage with Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry. The two are high school sweethearts who share three children: 9-year-old Riley, 6-year-old Ryan Carson, and 3-year-old Canon W. Jack. Their wholesome image and family-centric nature has made the entire family very popular in recent years.
Yet some say that all isn't what it seems. A blind item from gossip site DeuxMoi suggested that the Currys' happiness is smoke and mirrors. In reality, they claim the couple isn't all that close and enjoys an open marriage. After weeks of these rumors circulating, Ayesha Curry has responded after a fan brought the comments onto a recent Instagram post.
The rumors about Steph and Ayesha Curry's marriage began with a blind item on DeuxMoi.
"Have it on very good authority that this well-known NBA couple aren't as faithful and in love as their social media and image make them out to be!" the item reads.
"They both have side hookips and flings but keep it very private to keep up the perfect family image they show to the world."
Commenters pointed out that this particular rumor seems to pop up every once in a while, then dies out. This time, however, the speculation and discussion continued for long enough that it reached the comments of a recent Instagram post by Ayesha.
On January 10, Ayesha celebrated her husband's recent GQ shoot by sharing some photos.
"Good gracious God almighty @stephencurry30 … ," she captioned the image.
"My baby's @GQ cover shoot."
"But yet you still want an open relationship smh," one commenter boldly wrote on the post.
"If I were him you woulda been sent to the streets already."
Needless to say, Ayesha was not amused.
"Don't believe everything you read," she advised the commenter.
"Do you know how ridiculous that is? Don't disrespect my marriage like that. Please and thank you."
Steph and Ayesha celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in July, though they've been together since meeting in high school in North Carolina.
"My love! my adventure partner! My best friend! My confidant! My baby daddaaaay! My everything! 10 years married y'all ," she posted on Instagram to celebrate the occasion.
"It has felt like the blink of an eye. @stephencurry30 is by far, hands down the most amazing being I know. I can’t wait to see what the next 50 has in store for us. Happy day happy day! We’ve been doing the most celebrating the past couple of days. July 30,2011 to infinity and beyonnnnnnd."
A few weeks later, Steph surprised Ayesha with a backyard vow renewal ceremony.
"A couple of weeks ago @stephencurry30 surprised me with the most beautiful vow renewal ceremony. He even picked out my dress for me and had it waiting ," she shared.
"Our big girl Riley officiated and Ryan and Canon walked me through the grass of our backyard. It's everything I've always dreamed of but didn't know could be possible in this way. A moment I will never forget. I love you @stephencurry30 ."
