3-Week-Old Softly Smiles In Late Father’s Old Motorcycle Gloves

Photographer Kim Stone captured the undoubtedly beautiful image of 3-week-old Aubrey. Any photo of a precious newborn is sure to make the viewer squeal in adoration, but one particular photo represented something much more significant to mother Kathryn Seable Williams.

Stone carefully placed Aubrey into her father's motorcycle gloves so that they looked as though they were holding her — the devastating truth was, Aubrey's father would never be able to. Her dad, Hector Daniel Ferrer Alvarez, died before she was born.

"He was so excited just to be a daddy," Williams said. The grieving mother contacted Stone for a photo shoot with Aubrey. But it was Stone who came up with the special tribute with Alvarez's motorcycle helmet and gloves.

Alvarez loved his motorcycle dearly, but when he discovered he was going to be a dad, he traded it in for a safer bike — clearly he loved his daughter much more. However, Alvarez was tragically shot and killed.

"She knew our story, and she gave us finally something that allows us to cry," Williams said. "It's a reminder that he's not here physically, but he will always be with us. He's always going to show her that he loves her."

Stone couldn't help but notice that as soon as she placed Aubrey in Alvarez's gloves, the baby girl began to smile. It was like she knew…

"It was just so special. As soon as I put the glove on top of her, the baby started smiling. I didn't have time to set up lights or anything, I just started taking photos," Stone said.
