Creative Parents Turn A Spare Bedroom Into An Adorable Barnyard For Their Baby Girl

When you realize your home is badly in need of repair, you can either see it as a setback or an opportunity.

Yes, remodeling takes a lot of time and probably a lot of money, too, but you never know what surprises you might run into along the way — like this remodel of a high school that revealed a shocking 100-year-old secret! Sometimes you just need a little motivation.

Sometimes you just need to find your motivation. For an Imgur user named Silasvirus82 and his lovely wife, that motivation was their precious little baby daughter.

When the couple discovered that there were some issues with the drywall in their spare bedroom, they saw it as an opportunity to DIY a playroom that their daughter would treasure for years to come.

With just a little imagination — and a lot of paint — they turned a boring room into a barnyard paradise that any kid would love.

Scroll through the images below to see how they did it!

Initially the spare bedroom was pink, which suited Silasvirus82's daughter, Rosie, just fine.

But when they discovered some drywall issues that needed to be fixed in the room, they faced a decision: repaint it pink, or do something a little more adventurous?

They decided to choose "adventurous" and set about redesigning the room with a farmyard theme.

The first step was to paint a blue sky. Then, the outline of hills in two different shades of green, to give the feeling that you were standing among rolling hills.

While his wife painted animals, tractors, and other farm stuff on the walls, Silasvirus82 got to work creating a very special piece of furniture…

…No farmyard is complete without a barn, right?

Silasvirus82 imagined a barn-shaped playhouse that was big enough for kids to crawl around inside.

He started by building a frame that would fit perfectly in the corner of the room.

Then he cut out the front face of the barn and started working on the trusses.

He joked: "Being the individual lengths of each piece are fairly short, all those angle cuts have to be very accurate and were a huge pain in the you know what."

Slowly but surely the barn started to take shape.

Doesn't the red look great against the blue sky and green grass of the wall mural they painted?

Keep in mind that a power sander is a must-have item for a playroom project like this. Silasvirus82 sanded all the studs inside, the edges, the doorway, and the windows.

"Got to keep those splinters out of this cutie's hands!" he explained.

Finally, the barn was complete. It even had a little weather vane and cute barn doors!

His wife did an amazing job on the mural as well. Look at those little animals peeking over the fence behind the cubbies!

The sunshine lamp was a brilliant touch as well.

Here's the finished product! "My wife even added some glitter glue to the water to make it sparkle!" Silasvirus82 points out.

It's all set up and ready for little Rosie the Farmer and her friends.
