9-Year-Old Boy Celebrates His Birthday By Delivering Pizzas To Louisiana Flood Victims

Most young boys hope for a new toy, a party with friends, or even a trip to a special place when their birthday rolls around. But not Carson Boutte! He’s decided to give back to the community of Baton Rouge, LA, which was recently besieged by devastating floods.

What can one 9-year-old boy do for so many in need after such a horrendous storm? Make sure they’re well fed, of course!

"We're going to give them lunch so they don't have to stop what they're doing," Carson said. "We're just going to deliver pizzas to neighborhoods that have flooded."

By setting up a Facebook post and asking anyone in the area to order Domino’s pizza for the flood survivors, he pledged to match the first 100 orders, but hoped for more.

"What I'm more shocked about is how many people donated," Ross Boutte, Carson's father, said, as per ABC News. "We thought it was going to be just our family, and whenever it got out through Facebook, it just looked like the love wanted to be spread all over the area."

Carson received an absolutely staggering 367 pizza donations in response to his plea.

Ah, pizza. The universal healer! Did you catch the story about the pizza parlor in Philadelphia that provides much-needed meals for the homeless? Or the Domino’s employee who paid for a police officer’s lunch? It's stories like these that truly inspire us to do more for others.

And the local residents touched by Carson's selflessness agree. "You don't see children that young who have such a big, giving heart," says one resident about the boy's efforts.

It’s a simple gesture, but one with such a noticeable and immediate impact on everyone around. All Carson had to do was lend a helping hand, and by spreading this small kindness, he’s inspiring the rest of the country to do the same.
